My Story

The Creation of this Program is based on a lifetime of crises, learning, and transformation. Depth learning and the wisdom that results from these experiences does not come easily. How we handle difficult times allows for deep soul growth. In my upcoming memoir, The Voices Within me, I share the stories of how I transformed from a traumatic history including 21 years of physical violence and sexual abuse, drug addiction and jail, financial hardship, deaths of a sister, my first child and my granddaughter, and a grandson. The repeated rejections from family members—contributed to low self-worth. But I moved through it all to receive a doctoral degree in psychology, professorship positions in several universities, authored seven published books along with numerous articles and chapters and did much of this while earning Shodan-rank (Black belt) in the Japanese martial art, Aikido.

Those obtainments came as I learned through the many difficulties both within and around me. I did not get stuck in blame, projections, or fear. The courage, caring, and openness to learning led to ever deepening psychospiritual transformation. Even if it has not been easy, I also had to accept that there are some things we can and some things that we cannot change! It is ongoing work related to ancestral healing accompanying our personal psychospiritual evolution.

My life has been blessed in so many ways. Now it's important to share the ways I learned and am now being guided to teach others as well. A small example comes through the following story. I remember sitting in a morning meditation in 2000. Thanks to a highly respected friend, Dr. Nahid Angha of the International Association of Sufism, I had a treasured invitation. I was preparing the paperwork for FBI clearance to attend the United Nations Millenium World Peace Summit for Religious and Spiritual Leaders. It was such an immense contrast to my younger years that I had tears streaming down my cheeks at its recognizing that many people had no idea of what I have come through to reach such a point. An edited book, A Force Such as the World Has Never Known: Women Creating Change, led to being honored at the Library of Alexandria. My social contributions led to being honored for social contributions at the Women's Economic Forum in New Delhi, India. The list goes on...

An Egyptian colleague and friend once pointed out to me how I have always been guided since childhood. This is true, whether it was a book or movie, support from a helping individual, or the numerous, synchronistic occurrences and guidance that appeared, and continue manifesting, on a regular basis. This also has a big influence on the development of this program and lessons being shared for your own use.

We must not get stuck in limited vision and thought. There are many possibilities.

It is Love of Life and all its amazing beings and opportunities that can empower the energy and motivation toward Psychological and Spiritual Evolution. It is there waiting to be discovered.
